Turvey Construction Limited act as a construction and refurbishment contractor, specialising in public houses, hotels, restaurants, retail and leisure refurbishment. Services also offered by
Turvey Construction Limited include the new build of public houses and purpose made joinery and extensions.
This policy covers all aspects of Turvey Construction Limited’s business operations and will ensure appropriate steps are taken to minimise the company’s impact on the environment.
Turvey Construction Limited are committed to the continual improvement of its environmental performance and will comply with all relevant environmental regulations and legislations.
Turvey Construction Limited will:
- Reduce carbon emissions generated by the company’s activities.
- Make efficient use of energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
- Carry out business in a responsible manner with regards to the company’s immediate environment, particularly at unsociable hours and in relation to noise, odour, lighting, litter, uncollected waste or deliveries and collections.
- Minimise waste production and divert waste away from landfill by following the reduce, reuse, recycle, recover waste hierarchy. All recycling information is available to all employees and contractors.
- Ensure that all materials, services and equipment are handled as recommended within the manufacturers handling instructions to prevent abuse, misuse, damage, deterioration, and loss of identification or contamination.
- Consideration will be given to the life span of all construction materials, used, new and recycled and the ease with which they could be disposed of or reused.
- Protect and preserve natural habitats and enhance biodiversity where applicable.
- Provide environmental information, appropriate training and instructions, and encourage our employees to behave in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Use double sided printing for photocopying and encourage electronic filing and archiving where possible.
- Regularly review this policy.
Our external Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for the overall performance of this policy, which will be reported to Peter Turvey (Director) on a regular basis.
